I dont know what it is about Lake Como that attracts so many inflatable sailboats but I think Im going to have to go there and investigate the situation for myself.
The inflatable sailboat movement is growing!
Sailing has been suffering a slow and steady decline for many years now as more and more people move into smaller homes and condos and no longer have the room to store a sailboat. Some people turned to storage facilities and boat clubs but paid more than $500 per year and after several years the cost of storing a boat or joining the club approached the cost of owning a boat. Club members also lamented as they could not take the boats with them to cottages or beaches outside the city and suffered under a variety of rules and restrictions and were often left to the mercy of those who would sail with them. Couple all this with the high cost of maintaining and repairing traditional rigid sailboats and the dream of owning your own slice of sailing heaven began to look like a distant fantasy.
Now with the advent of new technologies comes a revolution in the sailing world: ultra-portable, inflatable sailboats! Now anyone can own a boat, sail it whenever they like and take it with them wherever their heart's adventure draws them to next.
Inflatables are the toughest yet easiest to repair of all the sailing boat designs. They pack into bags and are easy to store and transport. They are 3-4 times lighter than traditional boats making them easy to sail in a larger wind range and much easier to right in the event of a capsize. They make great learning boats and are family and kid friendly, but they also provide an excellent experience for seasoned veterans.
Our goal is to promote and facilitate a renewed interest in sailing by allowing those who could not previously own a sailboat due to lack of space have an opportunity to own an inflatable, portable sailboat. Ultimately we hope to have a fleet of inflatable sailboats so we can hold meet ups and regattas just as they do in Europe where inflatable sailboats have taken off!
Our friends south of the border at Red Beard Sailing share this passion and they have teamed up with CatSailor.com to create the first Inflatable Sailboat Forum. You can visit it by clicking HERE and ask other owners of their experiences owning an inflatable sailboat and see why this is the next exciting chapter in the evolution of sailing!
Anyone who has experienced sailing knows it is one of the greatest things you can do in life. We are passionate about wind and water sports and we want to share this passion with others. That's why we invested heavily in bringing these products to Canada and hope to turn the tide on the downward trend in sailing. Our goal is to help people get on the water and enjoy one of the greatest and oldest past times the world has ever known. Thank you for taking this journey with us and we hope to see you on the water soon.
Due to the strength of the Canadian dollar against the Euro we have adjusted the prices on our Tiwal and Mini-Cat lineup. Now you can get an even better deal on the award winning inflatable monohull and catamaran sailboats from Europe. Not only that but for a limited time only we are still running our 2017 Spring Special featuring 15% off demo boats and 5% off new sailboats. Owning a sailboat has never been easier. Now you don't need a big expensive trailer to tow a boat around as these sailboats pack into 1, 2 or 3 duffle bags depending on the model and store safely and conveniently at home when not in use. These boats are built tough, unlike fibreglass boats that are easy to damage. These boats are also easy to repair unlike moulded plastic or PVC boats. These sailboats are lighter than the competition making them easy to transport, launch and right in the event of a capsize. They are fun and safe for the whole family. Sailing season is coming so you may want to act fast as these prices are subject to change without any notice due to the volatility of the currency market. If you have any questions just Contact Infocontact us and we would be happy to help.
Our September 27th demo day was a huge success with Sailors lined up from many clubs to try the Tiwal! Some of their comments were:
"WOW! That is so much fun, I was catching waves!"
"WOW! That is super light!"
"WOW! That is very easy and very fun to sail!"
You can sense the common thread here, I think the most used term of the day was "WOW!"
We are very thankful to J-Town and especially Alexis for hosting and helping to plan the event and make it a huge success!
Unfortunately the summer sailing season has come to a close and many of the clubs are preparing for the winter. But we will not be hibernating. We will plan for more demos in the spring at a variety of sailing clubs and are looking forward to an incredible 2016.
