I always say that the one thing better than doing is teaching. I love sharing my passion for wind and water sports with others and seeing the joy it gives them. Or meeting someone who loved sailing in their younger years but hadn't dreamed owning a sailboat because they didn't have the space ... and seeing their eyes light up when they see that portable and inflatable sailboats are a reality. I'm very fortunate and blessed to be able to do something for a living that gives people so much enjoyment.
I recently had a gentleman call me who was interested in getting into sailing and had never done it before. We went over the characteristics and differences between catamarans and monohulls and he decided the Tiwal was right for him. So I delivered him his new boat and spent an hour or two showing him how to rig on sail her on the lawn of his cottage. Unfortunately we didn't get to go sailing that day but I couldn't wait to hear his comments after he had a few sessions. The other day I was lucky enough to receive this from him:
Many thanks for all the advice both pre- and post purchase on the Tiwal. I've been sailing it at every opportunity I get. It's incredibly fun and I was sailing within 3 hours without any previous training or experience other than your primer and our correspondence.
Your customer support is phenomenal in a time where it's all too common for a retailer to "disappear" following a sale. I very much appreciated you making yourself available to answer my many questions and to provide advice.
The boat is awesome and beyond convenient. My initial concerns about price have evaporated after seeing the quality and precision workmanship on it. This thing is a beast and is going to last me a long time... It will probably get passed down to the girls once they are a bit older. They love sailing with me and are learning to help me set it up and sail.
Thanks again for the recommendation. I'm super happy with it!
I've got to say this note made my day. I couldn't feel happier about this feedback and knowing that Dan and the girls will get many years of enjoyment form Sailing. Sailing has declined over the years but is making a resurgence as people realize how amazing a sport and activity it is. I feel sailing should be on everyone's bucket list and I'm glad to have another happy customer and friend.
If you'd like to experience the joy of sailing for the first time or rekindle the old flame for wind and waves, then please do not hesitate to contact me and I'll make sure you get VIP customer service and a boat you will be happy with for years to come. It's not to late to end the summer with a bang!
Congrats to our new Tiwal owners - This is from the 2017 Tiwal cup... Let's hope for some wind soon!
I dont know what it is about Lake Como that attracts so many inflatable sailboats but I think Im going to have to go there and investigate the situation for myself.
...is something I would love to be able to say! But those words are a reality for this lucky couple.
It could have been me... had I had my Tiwal or MiniCat with me on a recent trip to North Carolina where I took a tour of a protected marine sanctuary where Dolphins are everywhere. The trip was for another purpose but I have been kicking myself ever since. What's the point of having portable sailboats if you don't take them with you. I have often found adventures happen during the most unexpected of times and impromptu moments.
That's the beauty of a portable sailboat like the Tiwal. You can take it with you pretty much anywhere. What's the point of having a sailboat landlocked at a club or cottage? You probably wouldn't get to see dolphins up close and personal like this.
Well from now on I have either my MiniCat or Tiwal in my trunk all the time. I do a lot of impromptu road trips - one of my favourite things in the world. I used to carry a fishing rod. Then at various other times rotated between my inflatable SUP, kayak or Kiteboarding gear. Now its just a SUP and a sailboat and I'm ready for anything!
Hope you have some room in your trunk for adventure.
